Your blooming cactus looks amazing. Madonna in a Fur Coat by Sabahattin Ali is one of the most iconic novels in Turkey. I’m really curious to see if you’ll enjoy it. Knowing that you had a calm yet fulfilling May makes me happy.🍓

I was so happy when I saw those little pink flowers. They’re gone now, but I’m hoping they’ll return next spring. Madonna in a Fur Coat has been everywhere lately, so when I found the edition I wanted in a charity shop, I couldn’t resist. I’m really looking forward to reading it. How did you find it? ☺️

I read the book years ago. While some readers see it as a love story, I'm one of those who believe it's actually about societal roles. I think you'd especially enjoy the parts related to art and paintings. <3

That makes me even more excited to read it. I’m not usually one for romance, but if it leans more towards a societal lens, I’m all in. And the art angle sounds so up my street <3

Really love the "keepsakes" section, it's so cute to have a place where you can put this little moment which make all the difference in a way.

The keepsakes section has become my favourite to write. I usually jot little notes down on my phone and then reliving them at the end of the month makes them feel even more special. What would be one of your keepsakes from May?

It's such a good idea! I'm thinking to do the same :)

As for mine, I don't know how it's in the UK but here in France we have a loooot of bank holidays in May so I took the opportunity to do some exhibitions and go to some cafés to read Proust, it was such a blessing.

That honestly sounds like the perfect keepsake. We only had two bank holidays in the UK and sadly, they both fell on my usual days off haha. I haven’t read any Proust yet, but I recently came across a piece on Substack about it, and now I’m intrigued. Do you have any tips on where to start?
